Tea Tree Essential Oil
What is Tea Tree Essential Oil?
Tea tree essential oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree, and was named by sailors who would make tea from the leaves growing on the southeast coast of Australia.
At Aromatherapy Associates we source the finest Tea Tree from Australia, its natural home, where it is carefully grown in plantations to help preserve the delicate balance of the land.
What are the key benefits?
Tea Tree oil is known to be one of the most antibacterial and antifungal essential oils, and the plant has been used for many years by the indigenous people of Australia, it is often referred to as the ‘first aid’ oil, with a cooling effect that can soothe pain.
The volatile aroma was inhaled to help relieve headaches and colds and to boost the immune system after crushing the leaves by hand. However, more recently the essential oil is distilled and successfully used to treat wounds.
In aromatherapy it has found fame particularly for helping with the respiratory system, helping clear up congestion and offering relief from coughs.
It is recommended for all manner of skincare functions too.
Where do we use it?
We use Tea Tree essential oil across our Support Breath blends, our Facial Wash and our No Rinse Hand Cleanser, which offers transforming effects on both our skin and body.
Our natural anti-bacterial products are infused with our pure essential oil blend of Tea Tree, Eucalyptus and Pine to refresh & help clear the senses.
